  • Hah Rick and Morty did The Boys animation short

  • Exactly my views on it, such a great show. I rewatched Season 1 recently and was surprised at how different it was to later seasons, but in my opinion the difference was all for the better. Pretty dark in places. Has not done wonders for my business french.

  • Euphoria

I just finished season 2, after binge watching season 1 and the two special episodes so I could watch the finale of s2 as it aired (partly so I could share all the Euphoria memes). A lot of things in it really resonated with me, though the massively well-funded drama department is unfortunately not exactly how I remember secondary school.

  • It's really dark, lots of drug use, it's not light hearted.

    Yea it's grim.

Think it's the grimmest thing I've watched since The Leftovers I think, and I gotta say that wasn't really as tough to watch as Euphoria is, for me.

It's really good though, on many levels.. I enjoy the cinematography a lot, the way the story is told, performances are really good as well.

    Thanks for the recommendation!

  • Lavender Hill mob Bbc2 now

  • Yeah it looks beautiful whilst totally not being beautiful, glad you "enjoyed" it. It's not happy clappy TV, that's for sure.

  • the first two episodes of "All of Us are Dead" have been great

  • I couldn’t get past cop has 1 sniff and suddenly he’s a raging coke fiend

Yeah that and the nut up or shut up battle scared lead detective, bad when you start thinking about watching a touch of cloth halfway through instead.

  • Thanks for this, even though it missed the mark with me i'll stick with it.

  • They definitely stretch the story out longer than they need to but the action bits are just so fun. Does get repetitive though.

  • Picard S02 now on Amazon.

    An old enemy returns...

  • it's the total opposite of The Walking Dead though, action and tension as opposed to long boring character development, that and fast zombies rule

  • 😆 yeah realism is not the case. The diversity is not great either.

  • Just watched 1, I fucking love Pickles.

  • Yep, really good show particularly in the later series. Quite sad it's finished really

  • An old enemy returns...

    so good

  • Picard S02 now on Amazon.

    An old enemy returns...

    Now everyone's favourite alternative realm!

  • There are 'cartoon' episodes of The Boys on Prime now. The first one was a bit shit but they get better. Guest animators for each one it seems.

  • Finished S3 of Tin Star.

Seriously what a fucking shit show of a last season. S2 felt like it was reaching a bit, but S3 just had no semblance of reality. Or whatever you call the reality of the storiverse a show lives in.

In particular the way they carried on with the wild west frontier shit in a country with CCTV fucking everywhere. Surely someone who knows about story writing could work out a way to bring the various themes in but in a semi-plausible way.

Also I'm all for open questions and the viewer deciding, without everything being spoonfed, but there's a point at which it's just fucking lazy.

    /rant

Edit: I still think the first season is worth a watch

  • Really enjoying Severance. Anyone else watching? Really can't quite work out where it's going!

  • Enjoying it, feels like the TNG teenage me grew up enjoying

  • The Witchfinder

Daisy May Cooper and Tim Key in a 17th century set comedy.

Much less funny than I was hoping.
Has its moments but it is no This Country.

  • Yeah disappointed.

I've been really enjoying 'Murderers only in the Building' on Disney. True crimeish comedy about podcasts with an odd cast that works, and occasionally Sting.

  • Watched this too, nothing too serious, but good fun none the less.
