@cookiemonster is there any reason why you can't use Onto as a car hire company? We're finding that we quite often want a car for at least a month over various school holidays.

Yes, they’re basically just a longer term hire company. I think the “lease” thing is just because they get compared to leasing on pricing, and minimum hire term is one month.
I used them for a couple of months over the summer and then a couple of months over Christmas
That said, they’ve recently changed the pricing so both delivery and collection are £100. So £200 on top of the monthly cost (which itself has recently gone up, with a new mileage cap of 750 miles)

It’s an on.to short term (monthly) rolling lease car. We don’t use it enough to justify having a car - it was really just for this Scotland trip, which originally was going to happen over Christmas
Can’t recommend on.to enough though, great service and the ability to try a car for a month or 3 (or more) is very useful.
