I'll be there as always :D

Hopefully the queue is shorter than last time!!

@Tenderloin What's the best time to go in your opinion?
-
• #4132
Im getting there for 9:30am ;)
If you want shirts, ties, scarfs then there's unlikely to be a rush as they usually have loads - if you're looking for something more specific then earlier better. They usually do refresh stock
Last time they had an Edward Greene sale at the same time and the queue was around the block.

Probably good for shirts as I found this in a cupboard the other day…

Three for £150 in the sale, so £750. Still lots!

• #4137
Got in, in the first wave. Managed to pick up almost all the bits i wanted. Still on the hunt for the right brown wool sports coat…

How busy was it and how much stock? Can possibly make it tomorrow lunchtime but wonder if it will be worth it by then
-
• #4139
On my way down there now to see what can be scavenged, is it just the leftovers from the recent online Archive sales or do they add more shoe lines?
-
• #4140
Was busy but there is a fair bit of stock.
I managed to get 2 jumpers which were sold out in the archive sale last week and for £75 rather than £195
I’m going to have to go back as I’ve had a mare. Rather than size 40 trousers (eg 32) I’ve got 40 inch waist trousers! Tbf I specifically asked one of the staff and they said they were 32 but also if I’d checked better I’d have realised. All sales final but we’ll see if they’re feeling generous
-
• #4141
What are you looking for? I can say what they had today and can update tomorrow am
-
• #4142
Well I picked up some shirts and tried on some jackets but it was a proper bun fight, Primark levels of destruction. Shame I never wear a tie because there were some really nice ones.

Where's good to buy or hire a not massively expensive suit? I'm best man-ing a wedding soon and should probably try to disguise the fact that I'm a scruffy little twat. It's quite a casual wedding so doesn't want to be mega formal.

Uniqlo, Muji, COS, Arket... especially if not super fancy. They sell pretty slouchy/informal/unstructured suits.
-
• #4145
A simple check is with the waist buttoned see if the trousers will fit around your neckline. A rough guide is your neck measurement is just under half of your waist size.
-
• #4146
Not massively cool but M&S are worth a look too.
-
• #4147
in ascending order of price & niceness at the low end imo: M&S -> COS -> suit supply
-
• #4148
Thanks! Will check those out.
-
• #4149
Go in to suit supply and get measured for a suit, say you’ll think about it - take those measurements and find a suit you like on eBay using them.

Also if it’s casual you could go for a non-matching suit with say a blue sports jacket and grey flannel trousers or chinos, Oxford shirt and tie
