Urgent: Need a New Track Frame

Posted on
  • My beloved Holdsworth Path racer track bike is currently in a very bad state. The bottom bracket threads have been stripped and keeps spinning in the shell but it wont come out. The bike shops around me (Kingston area) say they wont try remove it so I'm am currently bikeless. I want to try get something fairly quickly as i use my bike for everything so a replacement frame is needed. I will try get my frame fixed if possible but in the meantime i think a new frame is best.

I'm looking for a track frame (preferably with front brake hole but fine if not) size 56-59. Im willing to pay up to 600 if i really like the frame and not fussed if it steal or aluminium (if there is anything over 600 id be curious to see what people are selling). Sorry this is in the wrong thread place! :(

  • Hey Sam, check out my Italian VINER - just built and test ridden this weekend. It's a proper FIXIE Fixed gear set-up. The hub is double sided allowing you to flip it to ride single speed (non-fixed) with a freewheel cog. Note: Only the FIXED gear cog is fitted on one side at the moment. The other side is free so you could potentially fit a freewheel cog or leave as is for now.

Top notch quality hand made in Italy (pro level frame!) with carbon fork + carbon seat-stays. It's ready to roll and wont cost you £600 but you would need a front wheel; you can get one fairly cheap anywhere. Size wise 54cm top tube (c-c) so you could easily ride it with a longish stem say 120mm or 130mm if you like and raise the seat post and VOILA! Take a look and let me know what you think.

  • Hi Sam , check my arregui Velazquez thread. it's a monster.

  • Pm sent

  • this is still available
I have various other components thatyou are welcome to swap out - https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/372944/#comment16418465

  • this is ready to go, no new parts needed. yo can cycle it away

  • I must say that a spinning BB is probably removable, the threads may be gone but it could be re tapped if they are not terrible, have a look around kingston/teddington area for a good shop, there are some pretty wiz mechanics around. Depends how attached to the frame you are.
Good luck with the bike hunt :)

  • Yeah i will try and get someone to fix it as frame is in good nick apart from that and stuck stem. the frame just fits me well :) @frozone

  • you can remove the bb and get a pressfit in there, cheapest option thatll work

  • do you still need a track frame? how about pinarello montello carbon? size is 57.5, you can find details on my posting
