I'm looking for a pair of brown brogue boots and whilst looking online i saw tk maxx have Marcus De inc Siglo 2 brogues less than half price in sizes 8-11 so i thought I'd flag them on here. I think I'm into the dark green but maybe that's the discount talking. A nice brown brogue boot will be much more versatile for me

Green will always be a novelty colour. Will look great if you can pull it off but like you say, far from versatile

I'm looking for a pair of brown brogue boots
I was after similar for work, ended up with Clarks Batcomb. Not the snazziest of brands but do the job and look ok.

Think that’s the TK Maxx effect taking place.

Plus a couple of large glasses of Malbec always a dangerous combo the next thing i know I'm buying green shoes. I'm back checking out much more sensible options today

Great recommendation thanks I'm going to check out my local shoe embassy sale when in town this week but we've got a Clarks so will try a pair they look decent
EDIT: the Batcombes are currently £69:40 on Amazon at that price if i like them i can buy a black pair as well and have 2 pairs for less than half the price of the Sweeneys i was eyeing up -

I have a whole variety of I guess midpriced (Churchs, Loakes, Grensons, William Lennon, etc) shoes and boots but the ones I wear 95% of the time are the various Clarks that I own. Tend to keep an eye on the outlet store and can pick stuff their pricier stuff up cheap pretty often.

I've still got these for sale if they're any use?

Got my new boots.
Canada West Moorby 6” Black ‘Loggertan’ leather with a Christy sole.
Cost me 252CAD, that’s about 152GBP, and made locally!

Re-offering these Mark Mcnairy Sanders boots in size UK11 free to a good home (collection only) - took them from tenderloin but sadly just a bit too big.

V V happy with my Trickers Stow. Best brogues I've got, by some measure.

I do love the stow country boot but they are expensive. I went for the Oliver Sweeney Millbrook in the end.
They'll need a breaking in around the ankle but very comfortable first wear.
I picked them up 15% off. I'm impressed with the quality for the money and I've had smarter Sweeneys before that lasted 3-4 years so expect these to last longer than that with care

Been asked to wear dark brown shoes as an usher to a wedding (I know).
I have a brand new pair of tan Clarkes I got cheap from their outlet, could I dye/stain them?

I've done it once with the Dylon kit and was surprised how well they turned out

I got oil on some suede birks and dyloned them black…
Excuse my horrid feet

good job but is that astroturf?

I guess you could try and dye them but seems a bit much for a potential single wear no? I'm assuming you don't want / see this as a chance to get yourself some keepers.
I'd be asking friends and family if anyone has a pair you could borrow for the day.
Failing that maybe someone in this thread could help out? As an example I've got a pair of dark tan grensons I'd happily loan out (size 11, located in York but would post) if any use?
Other than that I'd be trawling charity shops.
