I've tried that but it hasn't been foolproof. I have a cable tie I keep on the stem which I can use to hold it down and I also have a lanyard as a fallback. I've needed both on more than one occasion. Ugly as sin but it works, at least until the fecking thing freezes or powers itself off.

Put a bit of tape on the miunt to make the tolerance tighter. And yes I still strap mine on via a leash.
