    Country music has its origins in folk music from the British Isles. It's not an accident: it expresses that Scottish maudlin aspect.

  • We really don't need to reimport it. It's bad enough that, as Billy Connolly used to point out, the Scots buy for themselves the same tacky tourist tat they sell to the tourists. We still have Harry bloody Lauder's ghost kicking around, we don't need yodelling cowboys as well.
