Whoops! After watching that I'm very tempted to fire up GT4 to retry the Mercedes Nurburgring challenge, definitely gave some nostalgia vibes there. Also, it's a weird feeling having a PC and not being able to play what you think is probably the best racing game.

I'd already been watching Jimmy's live streams before I had a copy. Not really bothered with spoilers for a racing game.

I can barely even get to the end of the rally one in the IA license, kind of stuck there for now!
Been dabbling in the online races; some are pretty fun but people seem to know a lot more than me about tuning.
I haven't played a Gran Turismo since GT2 and it seems chucking the most power, best brakes & slamming the car isn't the way forward any more!

Current B race seems the most open & fair so far, got tomorrow afternoon off so saving race C for then as it looks seriously involved with all the tyre wear & fueling.

Fresh off the GT7 praise, what the hell are these licence tests? I get that you only really need one lap for gold here, but 17 mins for 2 laps of Trial Mountain is not something I'd be rearing to go for...

Missions are completely separate from the licence tests. Some are reasonably fun, but I reckon I'll be avoiding the above and similar.

I checked and it has the same issue with the tyres as S-5. Target times are set with dirt tyres (as can be seen in the demo lap) but you have to compete against them using racing hard. Hopefully it'll be patched sooner rather than later.

Ah right, I haven't played a GT game since 4, but I remember there were similar missions there. Things like drafting a stream of cars, and racing different eras of a similar car with offset start times. They all look to be back and were pretty fun to be fair. The economical driving ones are a bizarre idea though.

1.07 is out and tyre issues are fixed according to the patch notes.

Woohoo - will give it a blast tonight. Will make a nice change from trying to blindly fix gear ratios (with no idea what I'm doing) after messing them up when trying to squeeze a bit more top speed out of the car for daily race C!

Really wish I’d bought a physical copy of GT7 so I could shift it. Really wasn’t enjoying the game before the nerfing and now they can just fuck off.

Sony continue to be arseholes. New at 11.

In other news, mx5 at Norvdscheilfe on iRacing is the most fun I’ve had racing ever. Such close racing and so much fun to drive at that circuit.

I'm still really enjoying it, though as I missed several generations of GT it's probably a case of ignorance is bliss!

I'm glad I've got cloud gaming with gamepass, isolating in my room but a laptop and an Xbox controller and can just carry on playing most stuff.

I'm not doing too bad, bit snottier than usual but getting constant tea and food left at the door whilst I sit in the dark and play withby myself. Swapped rooms so I'm downstairs for the night where I can just carry on but use the Xbox and sleep on the sofa.

Witcher 4 announced - will be made in Unreal Engine 5.

Already excited, can't go wrong.

Hopefully the Series X update is out soon. I'm hankering for a replay of Witcher 3 as I've been reading the books recently, only one left now.

Played through Far: Changing Tides over the last couple of days. Pretty quick and simple but a very charming game. Looks wonderful and the music is lovely throughout.

I was saving the witcher 3 until I finished reading the books! Finished them last week so I think after elden ring I'll jump on witcher 3, I'm pretty excited for it, partly to extend the story from the books.
