b) likes more than one kind of bike

That means that you Need to Buy a gravel bike now, before it's too late and it's all about electric tandems.

It doesn't corner very well, but it's with slicks it's pretty amazing on badly surfaced roads.

Chode stem ruins it for me

I’ve succumb to the fact my MTB is a bit sluggish for most “grav”, so I built up a cheapo build using a frame from the alp kit outlet.
The bars are incredibly high and I have a feeling I’m not going to like it

Maybe a negative stem and some bar rotation will sort the height out.
