• My method is to pour boiling water into the flask and leave for 10-15 mins before adding the hot drink. Does help it last longer.

    Then put the flask in a pannier and tootle off for the day down some lanes and b-roads.

    If there's some loose chippings or mud ask yourself if it would be worth getting a gravel bike, then realise it's not worth the hassle of setting up a #BikePacking specific #OutsideIsFree Instagram account and buying the right dangle mugs as it would get in the way of a nice day out.

  • The problem isn't the temperature dropping, it's that once you keep coffee warm for an hour, it all starts to taste the same. There's no way you can tell the difference between even like, an anaerobic colombian and a washed process ethiopian once all the volatile compounds have broken down due to the high heat, so what's the point.
