Pretty sure I've cleaned it up since these were taken. Probably seen 300km tops. Was run on fixed bike so minimal brake wear.

Setting up an Exposure Revo and doing some testing between bar mount and fork crown mount. Feel like performance is a bit better mounted on the bar but it's difficult to be certain. Anyone done a similar test?

I like mine on the fork, but the beam is pretty wide when up to speed so maybe not as much of a difference vs other lights.
How’re you mounting it to the fork? Any pictures?

Peter White Cycle did the tests. Running it on the fork crown appears to be the best to avoid shadows / spread the beam

I preferred having my Revo on bars over the fork but haven't used it for a while and can't remember exactly why.
-
• #4185
If you want to unplug the Revo, as it has no switch, it's handier on the bar and the cable is less likely to end up in the spokes.
Having the light lower, on the fork, will cast more of a shadow on holes and bumps on the road making them easier to see. But it's not a big difference between the bar and the fork crown. -

Oft these are mint. Good work getting the pn for them.

Got a supernova mount and an exposure go pro adaptor - had to drill out the adapter to size up from 5mm to 6mm to accept the supernova torx bolt. Haven't done much riding but it seems solid.
How are you mounting yours ?

Ah ok, was hoping you’d managed to get the qr cleat system working which is what I was wanting to do so I can switch it between bikes.
At the moment very similar, sawn off bit of disk brake adapter to underside of Revo, then that bolted to a B&M fork mount. Solid but it’s certainly not QR, and I want the Revo to be able to be used across a couple of bikes in the future.

My B+M IQ-X got rained on last night, not a sustained period, and shut off and on and then off again whilst riding around last night.
Have wrapped it in paper with a large silica bag, so hopefully will recover. But this is getting silly now, I’ve had problems with water in various B+M fronts. Starting think I should get one of the posher front lights in the hope they’re more reliably weather-resistant (IME Edelux2 and Supernova E3 have both been fine).

Bm just aren’t weather proof.
Son or supernova for me, although I’d go son first, my supernova on the Benno is dead for some reason..

Come to think of it I did have a moment stuggling loading bags on when I might have pulled at some connectors just behind the light, so need to check that.
Might have to try sealing b+m lights cos they’re affordable.

Jeez, it seems dead.

Jebus is risen doh, it’s the light I’m concerned about.
Thanks 4 offer.

How old is it?
Also have you had a chance to open it up yet?
-
• #4197
Really very not-old, perhaps a year.
Never tried… was wondering if taking the clamp/ring off to see if there’s a vent under that band you can rotate the light in.
-
• #4198
Ah fair, it would only be one bolt to remove the light so it's likely quicker than your current set up.
I think if you used the cleat end of this https://www.exposure-use.com/Brands/Exposure-Lights/Products/Bike/Brackets-and-Mounts/Action-Camera-Stem-Cap-Mount-with-Light-Mount and the Supernova mount you'd be in business. But that's almost £100 on mounts for two bikes, depends how often you want to swap I guess...

Less than a year should be under warranty?
Edit, even more than a year, at least in the EU. -

Hmm good shout. I’d had it bookmarked but wasn’t sure if it’s fit. I have a spare supernova mount, and the other bike the Revo would be mounted on the bars so not actually that much of an outlay… may be worth a try!
Do decathlon still sell their super cheap dynamo wheels? Couldn’t find them online after a quick search :,)
