Got my little one a used trek Kickster. Thought id have some fun with it.

I'll be doing something with an Isla bike this summer. Not sure I can be bothered to paint another bike though, just upgrades.

Klein horizon linear fade inspired? Only the second best paint job ever. This looks like a real fun project. I've already been getting ahead of myself and looking at an Ali carbon balance bike for little Pippa-Rose. Saw the 1k Specialized carbon hot walk on my search 😂

Main thing that put me off these was the lack of a brake. Not that it's essential but I like the idea of getting used to a brake lever as early as possible. Could have done a weird frankenbike bodge but meh, too much thinking.

And none on this one. I didn't think any of the little ones had but I'll definitely have a brake when she sizes up. The isla versions are bigger than this though aren't they?

Some of the carbon balance bikes on aliexpress are insane!

Paint on bars and fork is now done and a coat of lacquer on top. Makes the paint look way better.

I just picked up an older model and it's really really tiny. I'll have to get some pictures once I've taken it out of storage.

@handtightenonly just sent over these, after a night drying in the shop. Everything is looking alright.

Cheers. I think so yes. We are completely skint at the mo. But there are some great looking options over on aliexpress.

I'd keep the original wheels. They don't look too bad and don't distract from the awesome paint job!

Decided to just get it built up with what we had here for now. Nobblier tyres and silicone grip cut in half.
