  • That draft certainly takes some of the best/hardest bits. Lot of it features in the Peak Audax Super Grimpeurs. Would be a good day out if the weather's nice, although I doubt I'd ever get round it fixed.

    FWIW:

    • There's a water tap at the visitor center at Tittesworth, cafe usually v. busy though.
    • You'll get a great view of Thor's cave as you drop down from Wetton into the valley. Wetton Mill has a good cafe, sometimes busy, sometimes not. The climb back out to Butterton is a brute.
    • Cobbles in Longnor is a good stop, cyclist friendly, great oatcakes and there's a village store next to it if you just want biscuits and pop.
    • Seems a shame not to get a bit closer to Chrome Hill. Not sure what it does to the climbing, but if you turn off the B5053 at the Grey Telephone box (before you get to Earl Sterndale) and head up towards the Raceway you go through another mini gorge. When you get to the cattle grid at the top, look back and you'll get a great view of the "dragon's back".
    • Alternatively, Hollinsclough Rake is probably the "classic" route out of Longnor.
