Could paste this straight to Shit fixie skidders say... to drop uninvited wheel suckers on the fixed bike around Surrey and Richmond Park.

Training would imply there’s some structure to my riding. There isn’t.
I ride to go places: work, uni, or just somewhere I haven’t been before (thanks Veloviewer).
I do feel compelled to ride a certain arbitrary number of miles a week. Is this training? Or just the manifestation of an unhealthy relationship with cycling? -

Because it's only fifty quid and just over four hours ICE to Munich for the bike and me.
I simply enjoy riding and since I stopped racing, I’ve found having some basic structure to my rides keeps me on track. Nothing fancy, take every 3rd week easy (I’m in my 50’s), keep an eye on the weekly training stress, which now includes long walks, runs, DIY and gardening. Don’t worry about what other people are doing.
Some of my most enjoyable rides have been on my shopping/pub bike – mid 80’s Raleigh Pioneer, rust, busted everything and cobwebs. Really shifts your mind-set.
Part of what drives it all is knowing that one day I won’t be able to swing my leg over a bike, and then I’ll regret every time I chose not to get out there.
