It's possible but it came on a new bike so should have all been set up correctly. It's been good after a bike shop set it up but it does drift out of alignment after a while. I've never tried another though so don't know what it should be like.

Any I’ve had have been pretty fit and forget…until you take wheel out. Usually need an adjustment to get the dots lining up after removal/refitting and then maybe another adjustment a couple rides later, like when you take it all apart it doesn’t go back together quite right so you adjust, then it ‘settles in’ probably cable ferrules seating properly etc, and you adjust back to probably where it was before.

Kinda sounds like something might be up with it?
I've had a few Nexuses and Alfines and they've all lined up properly. Have you definitely got the correct cassette joint for the hub?
