  • Fairlight are great (I have a Secan on order), but the lead times are serious...

  • These are nice, I live near one of their shops.

  • I've pushed the button on a Cube Editor with mudguards and changed bog standard tyres to gravel ones. Should be arriving in the next day or 2. It's similar to Cube Traveller without the Dyno lights and kick stand

Basically I wanted something that could be a dad wagon, handle a commute, deal with roads as well as some light off roads and tracks. Impossible to find something that will do all those well but looks like this will be above average in most areas.
It's belt drive with Alfine hub so 11 gears

Not that dissimilar to the Shard on previous page but at least I'd heard of cube

  • My Bob Jackson World Tour bike I've had for years and had repaired just got nicked in Zurich ugh. Now I'm in the market to buy a steel frame bike to replace this one to commute and for longer rides.

Bumping this thread up to see if there are any other bikes to consider? Right now leaning towards Genesis (however everything appears out of stock) and Fairlight (though lead times really long)

    Any further input appreciated thanks

  • I love my Fairlight Secan, but I’d also look at Ribble, Cotic, Shand and Brother of the top of my head.

  • Good to know you like the Fairlight after the wait... hard to stomach the 6 month lead time...need a bike for the summer :)

  • Shame about your bike getting nicked. You not tempted to just buy something off eBay, then you can get it ASAP?

  • Since you are in Zurich I would take a look at Veloheld in Germany
