The Tesla Model X received the highest ever crash safety score as the centre of gravity was so low that they couldn't get it to roll in tests... it remains the only SUV to get 5 stars in all safety tests in the US.

That's great, but doesn't actually answer my question, do you think it needs extra rollover reinforcement due to the fact its really bottom heavy? I don't really know what the engineering standards are, most of the safety standards I see are to do with how tippable the car is, rather than how secure the cabin is in the case of a roll.

I wonder if electric cars need even stronger rollover reinforcement due to the fact they're heavier and all the weight is in the floor of the car?
