Lol, now that I saw your bike, I feel a bit embarrassed by my earlier comments. Our setups couldn't be more different. My bike is probably twice as heavy and ridden at half the speed.
Hope you still get to go!

Different strokes ha. I needed something I can take the bags off and enjoy. (...and its my day to day gravel bike with a different set of wheels/tyres of course)
Oh I'm going. Even if I have to head for Spain or something not quite as interesting to me :)

This is one of my 'rigs' on a tour around Scotland last year. 90s Raleigh mtb given to me by a friend set up for touring using whatever was in the parts bin. Worked really well, no issues at all. My focus now is to be able to comfortable be riding day in day out. I think that’s more important than general speed. If you need to ride longer distances per day, just get up earlier..
Our route took us via Ostrava, Brno, Bratislava, Budapest, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Mostar some years back. Not sure whats going to happen but that is hopefully in safe distance from Russia.
All the best mate!

If Europe and especially Eastern Europe still exists in the spring, then I might just do that :)
I entered the B-Hard Ultra Endurance race in Bosnia as well...which should be type 2 fun.
