  • Just kidding. What kind of lunatic would buy a bike frame and then modify it when they could just... not? I struggle to imagine how shameless you would have to be to approach someone with the skills and equipment to perform these modifications and confess your deranged intentions.

    Fortunately I was raised with an awareness of my place in the world, so I don't embarrass myself in front of powdercoaters, welders, machinists, mechanics and other honest professionals in this way.

    First order of business will be seeing if I can make sense of the headset that came with the frame. I would rather not have to buy a new headset if at all possible.

    Looks like the previous owner met with significant resistance when trying to cut the steerer tube.

    It was interesting, fun and satisfying when I did it. It was a frame I already owned though, not a new purchase. That would be madness.
