Had my first lesson with a new teacher this morning. Pretty pleased with how things went. She hardly played (only to demonstrate what I needed to do) and concentrated on what I could and could not do. A few technical tips to improve chord tone and a suggestion to use a thicker pick (I was still using the super thin pick recommended by Justin Sandercoe). Left with the A shape bar chord to practice along with changing between the A shape and E shape bar chord (bar stays in the same fret) as well as moving the E shape bar chord up and down the fret from F to G.
Next time (2 weeks) looks like working on strumming with more confidence and a look at improvising using Am pentatonic...
