I want a Dust bike, really.
You'll have to join.

This is a healthy opinion and I support it. I've no idea who decided that riding a gravel bike in the winter was a good idea. I imagine someone who stands to make a lot of money from people wearing out their components and continually buying wider, then narrower tyres in the hope they'll function in the mud.

it sounds like it could be the same person who invented CX racing

So you’re saying we should resuscitate the fat bike from the mid-to-late twenty-teens as the only winter option left?
Alternatively, at what level is the fat bike unlocked on Zwift?

Me, today, full chariot mode with deep carbon wheels and tri bars on a Checkpoint.
It's basically a winter road bike with more clearance

Maybe they’re all road bikes, who can really tell?

You’re right – it’s not – but I like to keep abreast of emerging
trends. -

Yes.
But also, how much longer is the reach on those newer STIs? Say this GRX vs 8050? Looks a lot longer thats for sure.

About 5mm longer, Di2 GRX and 12 speed. But they're slimmer and the feel is a lot more progressive unlike the on/off action of the rest of shimano.

I think this is the right thread, I've lived locally to Peddars way for years but never got round to doing it but on Saturday i planned a full day out.
Definitely no gravel but more mud, fields and floods. It was a good laugh and there was some hike a bike where i planned a walk onto the coast path before Thornham. I'd fully recommend if anyone wants a tough day out. I wouldn't recommend 33mm tyres and forgetting spare brake pads though ...

Definitely no gravel
Absolutely on point for this thread then
That’s quite a day out!

why not 33 ? it looks perfect for it

The fields were bumpy so wider tyres would of given me more comfort and potentially more grip. I used schwalbe X ones which did well as they didn't gey clogged up with mud though

It was meant to be bigger (return via Marriots) but we were running out of light. It will be worth a trip in the summer
