  • Ha ha!
Hang on, there’s actual bike riding involved on here?

  • No riding bikes here. Ignore BN

  • hah, no offence.
I bought it second hand and have only used it a few times - it was already grubby when I got it.
as to if it'll clean up, I did try but wasn't that successful! didn't try that hard though tbf.

  • A little change that made a world of difference..... 28mm Gravelking semi slicks. It really is a go anywhere do anything bike now as far as my riding is concerned 😍

Didn't know these were a thing, might try and hunt down a brown wall version for my CAAD. Bike is looking awesome.

  • @Glws @jono84 🍻
Merlin cycles have them in various sizes and black or black/tan, I was unaware of these tyres in this size and find them truly superb.
I'm still reeling how a bike that is this old and owes me so little (lucky deals/finds) can be such an amazing all rounder.

  • Yes i am familiar with cheap but fast rolling builds. It makes you question current prices.
As tyres are concerned, gravelkings are decent, i have used them a while but superseded recently by the vittoria terreno range.

  • That saddle to bar drop is hilarious on such a modern suspension gravel bike...

  • Modern? Gravel?

  • does anyone really know these days?

  • I do know that at 21 years old it's not modern and is actually a recently 'repurposed' Road bike hence the 'hilarious' stance. (It happens to fit me like a glove) 😉

  • The silkroad way ahead of it's time it seems.

Unmolested Caad 12 56cm, low mileage for sale. Now located in Northern Ireland but can post.

  • Finished this for a customer today. Bought last year without the customer realising the seatpost was stuck. Eventually got the post out and the rest of the bike complete only to then realise it has a worn dropout. Repaired and repainted.

  • Also looking at this for myself. Pretty mint frame. Not in the perfect colourway, has campag potenza and the rims are done. What's a fair price?

  • I’d avoid as think you’d struggle to reach a suitable price for what you wxnt and what they think they have??

  • What’s the symptom and fix of a worn dropout? My CAAD7 rear wheel doesn’t sit perfectly straight, rim is closer to NDS seatstay than DS… tempted to file the NDS slightly to bring that side forward.

  • Probably about £600

  • The drive side drop out was worn so the wheel would touch the non drive side chainstay just behind the bottom bracket. This happened always and not just under load.

I'm not sure what the repair entailed bit it was done by a company here in Ireland called Altitude. It was well finished and has solved the problem.

If it had of been my own bike I would have went at it with the file.

  • £600 is exactly where I am at. For something that not overly fussed on as my main interest in the frame. Also the buyer is keen to sell so all should be happy.

  • If you are happy paying £600 for the frame I guess. the rest of it doesn't look up to much.

It's pretty old. Doesn't sound like the best deal tbh.
