Discogs does the cataloging of a collection quite well and gives you the option of offering some of those for sale as long as you're not in a hurry. To me it's useful to see versions of a release that are available. Searching outside of the release does seem a bit hit and miss.
There's a lot of new commercial sellers on there now. Juno has weighed in quite heavily in the UK.
Not aware of anything but Discogs needs to invest in its infrastructure and experience generally. The site and app are so painful and flaky. Had a very unsatisfactory and ultimately unfruitful digging exercise earlier. Not sure what its model actually is, but it feels like it could/should be a lot slicker than it is, considering it is basically the option for 2nd hand.
Related to that, does anyone buy on eBay? Not many sellers on there these days but the whole experience is a joke now. You gon’ get sniped. For literally everything. It feels broken.
