we laugh but except for Sidi no1 really makes replaceable sole rubber bits essentially making all shoes 'single use' which is such a shame

Mine did, very successfully. Recessed cleats and a good cobbler = long lasting bike shoes

ShooGoo. buy a couple of tubes, keep layering as it wears out.

Or fit some lower gears, so you all don't have to keep walking up the hills

So my cheapo 1x AliExpress groupset turned up, to stick on a Bombtrack arise as, obvious as it may seem to everyone else, I hadn’t appreciated how useless singlespeed is on a “gravel” bike.
But the real news is that I hadn’t appreciated that a 42t cassette is the same size as a 42t chain ring. I mean, I “knew” but I didn’t really “know”
I fished the thing out the box and spent 2 minutes trying to work out what it was. For someone that’s only ever used 12-25 cassettes or 16t sprockets on a single speed, it’s comically massive

These are both great

They both make me want a rim braked CX/grave but then I remember we live in the UK and not Cali.

I want one as a reminder not to ride in sloppy conditions.
I feel that ‘Gravel’ bikes have been marketed in the UK as a winter option, which I think is totally wrong. Gravel is only acceptable in summer. I want a Dust bike, really.

I’m seeing an awful lot of people out riding their gravel bikes on the road at the moment.
A marketing triumph.
Finally got round to weighing the Sonder.
Size 50 frameset with headset weighs 1.94kg
Uncut fork weighs 748g
