For bike hire & (relatively) kid friendly you probably want Glentress - I saw some sort of skills zone there and plenty of kids around. There's a Go Ape there too...
Personally can't wait to get back to Golfie but it's probably not very kid friendly, and nothing in the way of facilities. -
From glentress you can ride along old railway line to Cardrona which has a fun pumptrack.

For anyone who’s been to the 7 Staines centres recently are any worth a visit if in Edinburgh? Ideally one with bike hire as my EV will throw a fit if I drove to Edinburgh with bikes on the roof, and ideally some kid friendly bits like a pump track?
