Wagtails? What is Bachstelzen? A name of a genre?

As mentioned above -
I noticed in recent years people very often dance around the term here in Berlin when trying to describe something, like "bouncy-minimal-electronic", or they tag it with a sound a certain club or a group of DJs / producers is known for, like Bachstelzen for example.

Bachstelzen are a group of Berlin based DJs / producers, that, kinda, established a "signature sound".

Parts of that reminded me of the mercifully short lived Hardstyle craze in about 2005.

Hardstyle is still going. It's like gabber with every interesting bit removed.

Yeah i get some hardstyle popping up from time to time on Darkraver and Kutski's channels and I'd say its hanging in there rather than still going strong.

Every time I look for a track on youtube I seem to have to dodge 13 hardstyle remixes of it before I find the one I'm looking for. I have fabulously terrible musical taste though so it probably makes sense.

Fuck me, what a scenery.. Burning Man must be such a trip!

what used to be minimal techno (Basic Channel/Chain Reaction and such) now called dub techno because click/microhouse wankers like Perlon/Villalobos appropriated term Minimal

Yea, he's worked with some amazing visual artists.. if you haven't already look him up on vimeo; most of the videos are there, including the older ones which are more "simple", but I very much like them as well 👍

Thanks for that. I've been seeing Dub Techno here and there. Was pretty obsessed with Minimal when it first appeared. Basic Channel I definitely recognise.

Not sure what you mean by "that style of video", but anyway I always have been focused on the music pretty much as well.
Max Cooper was a recommendation by a friend, who suggested I go see him perform "Emergence" live at the Funkhaus in Berlin, which I did - it left me as speechless as seing Pink Floyd back in the nineties (in regards to both the music and the visuals), so afterwards I started checking out the videos and recogised them as part of the whole puzzle he's creating.

It was meant to be complimentary but I should have used my words better. What I mean is, where have these visuals been all my life?

I'm really into this harder style (not hardstyle) for my workout soundtracks at the moment minimal vocals just hard driving techno. I'm doubt I'd listen to anything this tough in any other setting though

Who from UR will be there? Over the years the only Assault Squad dj’s to be consistently good and exciting were Jeff or Rolando. Even Jit Pennington can be hit or miss and others have been messy/uninspired.

Have just felt a little disappointed at a few UR events over the years and I am a huge UR fanboy.

Sadly I can’t go to this as I am already going to the Rage party at Heaven.

I’m enjoying it very much. I listen to a lot of old hard house and hard trance on the turbo and when I’m running. No need for subtlety when you’re in oxygen debt.
