  • Very possibly. My friend who works in supply chain for a telecoms company is having all sorts of fun with it. By all accounts a very versatile chip that when you can't get it, fucks A LOT of people up.

  • For the past 6 months I've been trying to get lead times and costs for upgrading our medium Douze to a long Douze with zero luck! No UK shops can help and Douze themselves cannot tell me either! I've been told by Douze that no one has long front ends for the V2 including across the Channel.

If you view this video you'll see that between 9:30 and 9:50 the Douze representative talks about how you can simply upgrade the front if you wanted more room, if only this was actually possible I would!!!

The last thought was upgrading the canopy as the new one is taller but Douze told me to talk to LGC who told me that it could be double the retail price due to delivery and import tarrif's based on their last order, plus they have no idea how it would take.

Looks like we need to stop feeding our 8 year old to stop him growing! :)

Apparently Douze are in the process of shifting manufacturing from Asia to France, but this hasn't come from Douze themselves.

  • What about x2 36v in series

  • Its the same for many UK shops and persons with Douze, basically they aren't fobbing you off, they are just totally slammed, have been since 2019 and with C19 their life has become quite hectic. They aren't taking on any new dealers and can barely get existing orders fullfilled. Sucks as they are a really good bike and company TBH.

Would honestly get a mate in France to acquire one and post it back to you. Or use a shipping forwarder yourself and order from a French/Belgium retailer. LGC and others are all in the same boat. Small orders are at the mercy of UK custom's, some things come in correctly on the right %, others, do, not. I'm sure LGC can get it for you, they are just warning you of the implications, it might be totally fine and come in at retail price.

  • @BrickMan Thanks for the comment. It's a crazy situation and regretting not ordering a long front end from LGC when we managed to get proper quote back in late 2019 and sat on it... and then COVID came and that's that! :(

Douze told me that no shops in France/Belgium have any long front-ends in stock to buy so will just sit tight for the time being. Used to go over France and Belgium with work every couple of months, but now everything is done remotely.

Yep LGC were just telling me how it is, because the last time they placed a Douze order the customs charge was more than value of the item. Makes no sense, but that's what I was told.

it's an awesome bike though! :)

  • I'm also coming to the end of usefulness as a kid carrier with the Route. Daughter is 8 years old also. I thought all together we probably approach max permissable system weight as well.

Still awesome for shopping and it is my goto town bike. Was thinking about selling it but just cannot get over how much of a logistical hole that would leave, given that it cuts out so many little car trips and doesn't need any pre meditation like sorting out bags etc before leaving the garage.to run a small errand.

  • 2x36v possible if it copes with high max amp

  • Actually, I really miss my longtail. For a few months I didn’t… but the last two years there has been a real hole in utility since selling it. I would opt to keep a cargo bike, having sold one.

  • If they're both same battery, both bms should act as one power bank. It all depends how much Ah you want to draw out of it.

  • Cars are death, cargos are king :)

  • Thought this was worth sharing!

  • Literally picked mine up 10 days ago but just had the all clear that mine isn't affected. Thanks for posting this, not sure I would have found out otherwise and as mine is soley used for ferrying the kids around it was pretty bloody worrying.

  • Yup seen this.

Odd that some dealers I've spoken to have not received any email from LVH, inc us, zero emails. Checked all of ours and its not that many affected. I suspect its just one batch of parts that potentially affected. They seem to be shipping new parts in around a week so minimal down time for those affected.

  • This bike is a winner

  • @amey too much cash, bike is pricey enough!

  • Genuine lol at the Popemobile accessory as it flashed by in that gif

  • if you want IRL LOL come meet me, I have that lol

  • only if you carry me around in it

  • Is anyone looking for work as a cargo bike rider at the moment? No experience needed as long as you're generally a confident cyclist as we'll provide training
Generally 9-5, Mon-Fri. Pay is above London living wage, you get a few extra holiday days a year and it's a pretty nice company to work for. Downside is you'd have to work with me. Shoot me a DM if you're interested.

  • This is dope, if you can get two kids on the back and a Rohloff

  • Had Backpedal.co come and fit a gps unit to my bike yday : )

  • Cool, I've booked with them as well, they're just waiting on a new batch of trackers. How was it?
