really late to reply to this comment, but i just got to my nightly routine of reading through this thread.
One more thing Brits and westerners are not familiar with is - Russian work ethic.
It's kind of "couldn't care less - just doing what i've been told - not really care about the outcome" kind of attitude.
this sprung to mind.. and this is the product of a company that has army contracts.

From the guardian live update:
China asked Russia not to invade Ukraine until after the 2022 winter olympics had concluded, revealing that Chinese officials had some knowledge of Putin’s plans for an invasion of Ukraine, reported the New York Times’s Edward Wong and Julian E. Barnes.
If is true it is horrendous. -

That huge, incredibly slow convoy...I hope the speed is partly because the drivers are reluctant to get in the fight anf might perhaps be inducing some reliability problems.

Good article from Craig Murray (ex-amabassador to kazakhstan).
https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2022/03/the-universal-boosting-of-putin/TLDR - Russian military nowhere near as strong as is portrayed in the west. Has been talked up to boost arms manufacturers and other interests. Same thing happens in Russia - NATO threat talked up.

Russian map on Twitter showing where they think they control and where the Ukranian army is.
If this is true, presumably main Russian effort will go into trying to cut the Ukranian army off.

Just read this.
A great eg of how often twitter is an extension of drunken pub chats where you generalise to fuck and everyone else is so locked on to making their own drunken point they cba to listen or engage what you're actually saying so they just let your nothing point slide.
Just without the fun, atmosphere, and human interaction.

Read a thread the other day on tank tracks having really short service intervals when used on roads and again is likely to be causing issues

Not to mention the incredibly short service interval for the road itself!

This is a decent explainer from Ian Dunt on how the US and EU are attempting to damage the Russian economy:

This is useful to read along side, as to why the rouble hasn't collapsed further:

Dunt touches on some of these points but doesn't elucidate them.

Yeah. I’m also struggling with this and in and out of panic over the possible conclusion it’ll reach.

Yeah...
Which is sad because there's not a whole lot we can do about it. It just is until it reaches its conclusion.
Yep, going to reward you for snitching as well
