  • Thanks good to know! Can’t get the electriq where I am but the blue air is an option. Expensive though and replacement filters are 150 a pop. Off for more research

  • My partner has the Dyson one.

The sensors are reasonably good, and it has helped with reducing cigarette smell from a downstairs neighbour (I suspect mostly by circulating air when smoking happens more than from filtering).

The humidifier doesn't feel particularly effective.

The purifier seems OK to quite good, but I've been in spaces that had single-function purifiers where it seemed better (post-cooking smells and particles noticeably drop quicker).

    All-in-all... it's OK-ish.

For the spend, that's not a great outcome.

Would she buy it again? Yes! Because her space is limited so having a purifier, humidifier and fan all in a single not entirely unattractive package means it scores well for her despite her acknowledging that it doesn't excel at anything.

Biggest complaint is that the small fan that has to run 24/7 to allow it to detect poor air quality increases in volume over time. It's now an annoying and constant whine after 1 year.

  • Thanks, I’ve definitely struck it off the list. I always get sucked into the Dyson hype 😉 but not this time

  • We have this one. Fabric washable outer cover to get the big chunks, then a replaceable core below that.

  • Interesting, I don’t work on microwaves specifically, but I knew bang/bang control was super common on them.

I coincidentally can get staff rates at Panasonic as F&P are weirdly the local distributor for them here.

  • It's my one bit of vaguely interesting chat.

    I have nothing else.

  • miss rich g bought a magimix recently all working well untill using the egg whisk thing it has a protruding bit on the top that hits part of the lid. has any one esle had similar experiences ??

Edit added photos to help. I can only think it's a bad batch as the protruding bit smashes the lip of the lid.

  • Sure it's the compatible attachment? Some photos show versions with and others without

  • Hmmm I'll have a check again. Does seem odd so probably me being stupid.

edit. had a check no other attachment, its a two piece that slots together and no other piece in the set slots in. might have to send it back :(

  • Isn't that top bit supposed to catch and stop it spinning so the planetary gears engage properly?

    I'll check mine later

  • I recall having the same issue, and it was something like that ^

  • Ah that would make sence but all it does is smash in to it the lid lift and repete. It doesn't engage the gears. But that has given me the idea of how it may work. Ta

  • Yep got it working. Amazing thanks. Forum high five. 🙌

  • Came back to report. Glad you got the problem sorted.

  • .

  • Any suggestions for an electric single oven, £300 or so

Ours is seeing it's end of life, thank God...

  • Bosch will be in budget.

If you can stretch then AEG and Jeff are worth looking at.

  • Our kitchen plans are accelerating, has anyone used the 8-900mm full surface induction hobs from Miele, gaggenau, Siemens or fisher&paykel and can say if they are worth the money.

Really tempted to get one for the new (forever?) Kitchen but I only got a new 600mm John Lewis one 6 months ago and my wife is frowning at me.

    It's a very stern frown.

  • I think I’d go for Miele if I wasn’t wanting a mix of gas/induction - Gaggenau and Bora are both very nice but I would only consider them for their domino ranges.

  • are there any 600 induction/gas combos?
i like induction, the Mrs has Gas though admits it’s a pain to clean.
They all seem to be £1000 90cm
would want middle range Neff AEG etc. not Bosch as everything we have had from them has been faulty.

Neff is Bosch is Siemens ...

  • there is a smaller SMEG dual fuel induction, with 2 burners and 2 induction.

Also a 75cm (though seems a bit of wasted space, and a pain to match an extractor)

I have a 90cm SMEG dual fuel wok burner + 4 induction burners and it’s nice. Would have liked a dial rather than pure touch screen, but it’s very easy to clean (other than streaking)

  • You can also match up 2 dominos from Neff/Bosch/Siemens with 30cm dual gas and 30cm induction, also available from F&P, AEG, Miele, Gaggenau, Bora, with the premium ones often coming in odd widths like 38/45cm

  • That's not a bad idea... Bit late for me but should have considerable it.

  • and i like the Neff stuff i have, it seems better quality than anything i have from Bosch.
just don’t want anything with Bosch logo on it even if its from the same factory.
irrational but thats how it is.
