  • I'd never heard of dryrobes before but I kind of want one now.

  • Same here. Although now I've seen a photo I think i've seen people wearing them walking dogs round here. Look really practical and snug to me!

  • Pretty much the native traditional clothing of Cornwall...

  • This. it's a big long coat.

  • I wear less than that under mine.

  • My mass sighting was in Brighton. Plenty of trendy cunts down here

  • lots of people walking to/from their house to go and swim in the sea as well.

  • And walking from their Range rovers to grab a Hazelnut milk Peruvian hot chocolate with fresh Rosemary. Definitely trendy mums coffee morning crew.

  • Who is fresh Rosemary? She sounds interesting.

True story, I've actually met the inventor (well not his mum) back in my retail days when we used to sell them.

  • She's friends with Ruby Chocolate
Often seen hanging out at Knoops together

  • Saucy and topical.

  • Here you can sneak into the local spar in a Primark dressing gown. Dryrobes, pah, fancy stuff.

I hate people digging up their garden cos of fecking parking... neighbours are removing part and there is a nice small decorative cherry tree on it. It got groomed (well trimmed, it's not a dog) every year and robins / tits sit and sing on it.

But no. Even though you can plop two cars on it just need to be smart who has to leave first and swap at night. So it's chainsaw time and concrete.

    Bah.

I did rescue the roses & bulbs. I could have the tree but the roots are too large it cannot be dug up & moved.

  • Houses around here had loads of established Hawthorn trees which are being removed to accommodate more paving slabs. It is sad to see.

  • Not far from me developers have managed to overrule a refusal from the local council to build 475 homes on the south downs with at least one other similar scale development in the works

  • It's so counterproductive too, trees offer shade and filter the air.

Also everyone loves birds and they need trees.

Perhaps some evil people didn't fancy the bird poo, or the council had their budget cut and now has no money to take care of the trees, but yes it's sad :(

I'll be planting a few trees in the new house back garden along with hedges.

  • Seems crazy that you're allowed to cover permeable land with concrete in what's essentially a massive flood plain.

  • People wonder why we're getting more and more flooding, but it doesn't even cross their mind that we're concreting large swathes of countryside, removing trees, bushes etc.

They've built a small estate near me, which was denied planning permission for flood risk for over 20 years. The developer made a 'donation' to the village, suddenly permission was granted.

You can guess what happened the first winter after construction, the whole estate flooded massively. Their solution, they've dug a big hole in the middle where the new park they built was...

  • 😑 and then if you buy a house there, too bad, cannot insure it...

A bit of guerilla pond planting may turn that hole into a viable wildlife pond 😈

  • The home office.

Another low hanging hate fruit on here no doubt.

One person I know trafficked from an EU country, went to testify in court...still has no euss status because of backlogs. Can't work or study or claim houding benefits.

And...a person from Ukraine taking in her cousin/kids. But of course (as of writing) that is not direct enough family so it's visa time! A local group is connecting her to a law charity bit fuknose how long the visa takes

On that note local small charities are amazing! 😀

  • Just spent ten minutes on LinkedIn. Fucking hell, the amount of people posting stuff about Ukraine, then going on to say shit like 'it's that same sense of determination/resilience/never give up attitude that I strive for myself, in my role as director of my shitty little umbrella company'
