Not sure how accurate Russian MRLS are they used have them to “shoot in” a tank attack. To suppress hidden infantry armed with anti-tank missiles whilst the tanks and IFVs advanced.

I don't think that is a Vanguard class sub.
You can see a Western Ferry in the background. My dad used to be the chief engineer on those.

nowhere worthwhile left then

Not suggesting that they are using them, but some of the Russian MLRS rocket submunitions have guidance capabilities. Mostly anti tank though.

Err? No?
I'm talking about people who are part of Putin's inner circle or involved in the launching of nukes. Standing up to him and putting yourself and your family and friends at risk on behalf of Ukrainians who you don't know is one thing. Standing up to him when he wants to start a nuclear war (ie. if you obey your orders your family and friends will be incinerated by US nukes, or starve, or be eaten by giant mutant cockroaches or cannibals, etc.) is another thing.

There's been way too many close calls already

Will your family and friends be in a nice bunker somewhere though? Self preservation usually takes over I'd thought...

Sorry if its been asked/answered already, but what's the best/quickest/most useful source for donations?

Putin is a controlling dictator, president to pm to president again. Getting rid of desenters in to prison and getting journalists killed?

Boris' mate...
Still amazed at Lev power and influence. Proof money is everything.

Thanks. I'd rather not donate via the British Red Cross though

Some clients/colleagues in Kyiv sent us links to donate directly to the Ukraine National bank to support the Ukraine army
https://bank.gov.ua/ua/about/support-the-armed-forces
I understand that this might not appeal to some people who may be nervous about transferring money online to an unknown entity though.

Just saw this on the Guardian feed
Swiss officials have concluded that Russia is unlikely to use its
nuclear weapons against the West in a conflict over Moscow’s invasion
of Ukraine, Defence Minister Viola Amherd said on Monday. The comments came after Switzerland adopted EU sanctions against
Russia.“We are, of course, looking at all scenarios, but our investigations
indicate that the likelihood of these nuclear weapons being used is
low,” she told a news conference in Bern. That really comes across as pretty mealy mouthed on behalf of the Swiss gov... "If we thought there was a chance Russia would use the nukes on us, we'd not have got involved with sanctions"

The more everyone comes out saying that, the more I think it might happen, which is quite irrational I think.. (hope!).
Interesting that Fifa aren't banning Russia for the world cup playoffs.
-
• #770
Also if Putin is pissed off enough by Truss to raise his threat level, how do we think he'll react to Amherd publicly stating it's bullshit.

Wonder what currency the back hander is in?

They don't have anyone to play but you're right Fifa should be making a stand here.

He's also been removed from the IJF. I wonder if these personal, sporting sanctions mean more to him. His love of Judo is well known.
Noted.
