I'm talking about people who are part of Putin's inner circle or involved in the launching of nukes. Standing up to him and putting yourself and your family and friends at risk on behalf of Ukrainians who you don't know is one thing. Standing up to him when he wants to start a nuclear war (ie. if you obey your orders your family and friends will be incinerated by US nukes, or starve, or be eaten by giant mutant cockroaches or cannibals, etc.) is another thing.

There is a very large difference between resisting Putin on an invasion of Ukraine and resisting him when he wants to launch a nuke I think. Self-preservation and the survival of your family, for a start. What can Putin threaten you with that's worse than the consequences of all out nuclear war?
