  • The company I'm talking to with regards to solar panels advise that I should mount them at 38 degrees to the horizontal, but that they don't supply anything to achieve this.

    I could make a frame using aluminium extrusions and rivets, then bond it onto the roof - does that sound like a reasonable approach?

  • What's the existing roof covering? The trick will be to get a good fixing on to the roof without fucking up the existing weather proofing. Is there any brickwork you could fix to instead?

    I'm tempted to try something like this on the roof of our garden palace (shed). What kind of panels are you going for? How much juice do they deliver?

    That dreamy climbing guy with the converted transit and MM's of YouTube views has an adjustable alu frame for his solar panels.
