I was on the DLR the other day and there were 3 blokes, one of whom had two young boys with him, must have been 9 or 10 years old.
The train stopped at East India and the men started sniggering to themselves. One of the boys turns and said "dad why don't we like India again?". Much embarrassment and shushing from the dad

Aye, but this lad's parents weren't embarrassed - he won the school competition and got into the papers (as a winner, not in the funnies section). The society around him is teaching this. And celebrating the bizarro children's art that results from that.
Thatcher's Clause 28 had nothing on this. And wasn't so unintentionally camp.
