Finland closes its airspace.

Seems inevitable that they'll be joining NATO now.

Russia has threatened military action if they do.

Ironic that the actions of Putin - who apparently doesn't want NATO expansion - are actually speeding it up.

You're not allowed to join Nato if you have an ongoing border dispute. Nato doesn't like the mutual defence clause to be invoked too easily. It's only happened once in Nato history, i.e. because of the 9/11 attack.

Correct but Finland don't have an ongoing border dispute so...

(I was talking about Finland, I think you read this as Ukraine - it was a bit ambiguous)
