Thanks - I’ve not seen that video.
I really wish I’d not wasted the late 90s and early 2000s obsessed with hard house and trance and got myself to House of God, Atomic Jam and some London squat parties.

I've never been. My mate said Birmingham was mental and he used to not like Surgeon but afterwards his opinion was changed. I have more Surgeon stuff than BMB.

I think BMB only put stuff out for a few years.
I went to one HoG at the Que Club but it was when the whole country was mad for ket and GHB so it was a terrible moody atmosphere.
That aside, Birmingham has always been an amazing night out.

Still recovering from Neighbourhood at the weekend, hands down the best techno party in London since the last Neighbourhood.

Can't wait for HoG to restart as well, had many a fun night there the crowd is always amazing.

I haven’t been to the Tunnel Club since it was Subway City. It was an absolute shithole during the years I lived in Brum and always attracted some moody bastards regardless of the night.

Love a bit of HOG chat, amazing club, so many great nights and such a crazy varied crowd. Never really experienced much moodiness, the complete opposite. The Que club events were never quite the same, Subway was the place, well for me at least. HOG could rock a night on their residents alone. Saw loads of amazing Surgeon sets, BMB, Regis, SirReal. A couple of standouts, well ones I can just about remember are Andy Weatherall rocking a main room techno set, so good, rip and Paul Damage tearing up an old skool set in the back room.
The back room was great too, I remember moving from pounding techno in the main room to talking heads 'once in a lifetime' in the back room, awesome. And not forgetting the absolutely rinsing jungle from PCM upstairs, that was like a entirely separate club. And last but not least, the hilarious MCing from the hog crew, always bringing the wrongness

proper headphones and fat screen definitely recommended for this one 👍👍

Really enjoyed that. Maybe a tiny bit chilled on the music front for me but the visuals are great.

I'd say the music is brutal on a subtle level 🙂
Pretty much all his releases are kinda restrained in that sense, yet he does enjoy getting heavier / dirtier in his DJ sets..And yea the visuals are next level indeed; most of his videos have been really cool, check them out on youtube / vimeo if you like 👍

I like the visuals. Not my kind of sound so much but they do work well. I'm sure I've seen Max Cooper play in London before. Some dirty club in town with a bunch of techno hitters.

I have Harmonisch Serie on 12", released in 2009 so I recognised the name. Does anyone still use Minimal Techno as a genre? I don't see the term so much anymore.
I will try to check out some of the other videos.

Here a two of my faves
..regarding "minimal" - I'm definitely not an expert, but I noticed in recent years people very often dance around the term here in Berlin when trying to describe something, like "bouncy-minimal-electronic", or they tag it with a sound a certain club or a group of DJs / producers is known for, like Bachstelzen for example.

..speaking of - here's a very nice new mix from Mira (Kater).. slow-steady-deepish-bouncy-minimal 🙂
Quite a slow burner but lovely in my humble opinion 👍

A DJ who runs a house night in Manchester had a run of appropriate t shirts printed up a few years ago…

I wouldn't have called that Satori set minimal but whatever it is I'm digging it. Not often there's a trippy tribal chill set that I actually like. The only other set I can think of is Hernan Catteneo. I think it was his 2015 Burning Man set (coz I'd liked it on soundcloud)

This shirt came up looking for a pic of something the other day. I want it.

One of the first techno clubs I went to was the first ever House of God. Was in Birmingham for five years and HOG was my favourite night in the city. Tony was consistently the best of a great bunch of resident DJs there. Frequently the guests were out shone by the people who knew that crowd.
