  • If you don't like the swiss luxury brands why do you want a fake watch with that brand name on it? Why not buy a Citizen or another cheap quality brand?

  • See earlier posts. Have answered this 3 times

  • Hmm have to admit i didn't really read them and still got curious

  • people grizzling about the cost of watches yet seem happy to pay ridiculous money for shitty plastic plimsoles popped out of a mould by the millions that look like they were designed by a child in 5 minutes not just made by one.

  • Can we stop feeding the troll please. Thanks. Back to lovely watches would be nice :)

  • Ok , here we go .
Pictures of cool watch to stop the hijacking of our thread.

  • Interesting! I'm thinking about getting something similar to stop the temptation to look at my phone first thing when i wake up.
What do you think of the size? It's quite small right?

  • I’m probably obliged to mention the Seiko QHL062 at this point. Available in different colours and sizes.

  • First slap of the snooze button and that thing will go flying across the room. Odd piece of design. Like a Olympics related promotional item for an HK watch shop that every Seiko watch under the sun as long as it is below $400 USD.

  • The stand is removable. :)

It’s designed as a replica of their big marathon timing clocks, hence the giant logo.

The stand is the best bit. And for that reason, I'm out.

  • Sorry, but I seem to have missed something here. Why the reluctance to use a mobile phone as an alarm clock?

  • Great excuse to have a clock!

I think it's about the light and technology at night. Destroys a person's circadian rhythm. Only a guess though

  • Fair enough. Thanks. N+1 for clocks 😁

  • Pretty much this. Encourages bad sleep habits / patterns.

  • Guess there is a difference between using phone as alarm and checking the time on your phone?
We have a big Philips alarm radio to see time, but it's annoying to use as an alarm.

  • I think there’s two main reasons for not using a phone as an alarm clock - one is the blue light / emission thing that CB mentioned above disrupting sleep cycles (I’m a bit cynical about that but I am not a scientist so am prepared to believe it) and the other is that if the phone is nearby it encourages last minute from scrolling/phone use (and I deffo do that) which also affects mental health.

The idea of an alarm clock is that you leave the phone in a different room so you can’t interact with it before you go to sleep/when you wake up.

@kjlem it is small and lume does not look particular amazing (it does have a backlight) but hopefully loud - I’m a super heavy sleeper! I’m weird and sleep with a watch on so I usually just look at my wrist in the night of o need to know the time. In actually away this weekend but will report once I’ve used it. It was £20, so my expectations are set accordingly:)

  • In honour of the thread hitting a rocky patch ....

It's gonna be a lovely sunny weekend
