how much play? a little bit is ok. have you already got a washer underneath the bolt? maybe it needs a thicker one?

Yes, there is allready a washer, but even with the washer there is some play,
will try to film it today, just to understand if the amount of play is ok, or too much. -

This has come up before (can't find the thread). The boss is meant to be longer than the body of the brake. If you sand it too much, you'll be clamping the brake between the bolt head and the raise section behind the boss, so it won't be able to turn. How valuable is the frame?

Is a Colnago Maxim (vintage mtb frame)

Then I'd leave the bosses well alone. A washer sounds like the answer, but it needs to be big enough to go round the boss and not hit the end of it, but thin enough not to immobilise the canti.
Morning!
I've mounted some new cantilevers in my bike, but found that there is some play :S
the pivot (correct name?) is a bit longer than the cantilever "body"
What should i do here? sand the pivot?
