My entire family is/was from the Czech Republic or what was formerly known as Czechoslovakia. Under Russian/communist rule they lost everything they ever owned, were thrown into concentration camps and blacklisted from education and jobs. This was of course not just limited to them but anyone who stood against or opposed the communist agenda. I think the whole of Eastern Europe currently looks on with worry of those dark days coming back again.
