I've not been able to do anything but read the news and talk to my wife and family/friends living in Poland. There is already chatter there about making preparations for what they feel is going to be the inevitable if the Russians are not stopped in Ukraine. I've had a constant pain in the pit of my stomach for most of the week.
By coincidence I've just been on an "emergency call" with a US based fintech customer who has asked their exec team and key suppliers to come up for a conteingency plan for if the hot war spreads. They mentioned the public sentiment in Poland specifically. They have a lot of customers there.
I'm somewhat sceptical that its a real risk but even if its just a fear that comes to nothing, its fucking horrendous.

I'll admit to being a WW1 and 2 history nerd, can't get enough of documentaries about it all. I've always wondered what those early days of Germany invading Belgium/Poland would feel like today and I can't quite get my head around if this is similar or not, but today is a horrible feeling nonetheless
