When I came across it, I did think “gravel crit” as the perimeter is a decent loop of pure gravel like what they have in America. I then realised it would be terrible and bloody horrible on the corners

With a little less tyre that would be super nice. Can’t be doing with tight clearance on a SFAB bike, after a wore through the inside of a carbon chainstay in a weekend. Lesson learnt.

Looking to get a gravel frameset, budget around £500-£650, thru-axle and flatmount, 2x drivetrain so I can transfer my stuff across from current bike. Ideally steel but I've probably been priced out, and externally routed cabling for swear-free installation. Tyre clearance 700x45 or 700x40 with mudguards.
I looked at the Sonder Camino which is well within budget, but wanted to see if there were other, better options.

Looks good, is this the newer one with thru-axles or the older one? Looks like there will be quite a bit of toe overlap with the front wheel, be interested to hear your feedback

New one. Only ridden in trainers so far but doesn't feel like overlap will be an issue so far.

Just picked up a Camino AL frameset for my girlfriend. Cant comment on the ride quality but its a really nice frame for the money

hows the build quality in comparison with the checkpoint, in pics it looks a bit agricultural.

The Camino seems insane value

Welds are obviously not as nice as on a Crockett/Checkpoint but it doesn't look or feel cheap. Really impressed with it considering they're only £450 new.

This is still top of my list for a gravel bike, just keeping thinkin about going steel for a little (or a lot) more £££. Be interested in seeing the build

Where’s this from? Amazing

Stems can be put higher, headtubes can't be reduced. Long headtubes on drop bar bikes that already have long a2c forks are so annoying
