Bought this frameset at a swap last weekend. Frame is from 91 and originally had a full Built it up with all these cool parts I had laying around. Managed to fit 28mm tires and it rides really nice. Love turning these old race frames into randos

As seen in the rat bike thread. Here's my poor caad12 living a tough life of daily abuse

Seems super heavy at 8.4kgs for a DA rim bike. Is the shock fork really that heavy?

I thought Matthew offered you some bike washing facilities

They've been fantastic actually. No trouble with them whatsoever. 2000km of London commuting so far this year and potholes haven't killed them yet

Doesn't mean I have any desire to use them

Headshok brings the work weight up to around a kilo. Maybe a bit more. At the time that was made even unsuspended road forks were pretty porky by today’s standards.

i remember trying them out on a couple of rides and thinking - this has to be tubeless - as they were rolling so well.
I was unfamiliar with carbon so there that was too, but they were shockingly enjoyable. -

I ran them tubeless all of last year. Took a bit of work to get them seated initially but then they were fine.
Until I needed to change tyres... Couldn't get it to work again so I gave up and now tubed -

I love this. How well does the headshok work?

In my decades of riding and changing bikes I can honestly say this little rarity has impressed me the most. Yesterday a few of us did a local 35 mile route, rough Brighton roads, grassy bridleways, gravel tracks and traffic light races and it performed exceptionally well. The headshok can be locked out and the coil/oil damping/preload can be adjusted to suit.
A keeper.
