Jessi picked an argument with my wife and became genuinely threatening, so could be more than difficult.

RIP Mr Brooker.
Just to offer an alternative to the onslaught of Whiter Shade Of Pale coming our way - the mad and marvellous Grand Hotel...

Shit. That’s awful news. Such a unique voice and a true talent.

Shit , That's gutting.
His recent autobiography Sing backwards and weep was superb -

Oh man. That’s sad news.
Fond memories of seeing QOTSA live and him coming on stage with that amazing voice. Strong presence indeed.
His interview on Marc Maron WTF is worth a listen.

bugger, big fan of his more mellow solo stuff not just QoS/Screaming trees

Loved some of his solo work, some great tracks on Bubblegum, listened to his album with Isobel Campbell quite a bit when it came out, but favourite for me was the Broken album he did with Soulsavers, great stuff. RIP.

The ending of the Seattle episode of Parts Unknown with Strange Religion playing is really memorable.
Really sad news - In The Fade was my favourite song by a band who were massive for me growing up:

Sing Backwards was filthy - needed to take a shower after every chapter. Best music book I've ever read.
Saw him last time he played London - voice was still massive. A mate got me a signed flyer. Not something I'd generally be bothered with, but might put it in a frame now.

Olive
Yes, I didn't want to post a gawky On The Buses photo in the circumstances.

Va’aiga Tuigamala, legendary Samoan rugby player who played both codes. Used to love watching him growing up.

Was shocked to hear about this. Very exciting player who was well respected within every team he played for.

Indeed. Perhaps I should have distanced myself from the sentiment in the article I linked.
GF is really shook up by the passing of Jamal, said he burned brighter than any of us and brought light to others.
