Calm down. You're not being terribly rational. I know how the economy works. I'm interested in the economics of watch manufacturers and their customers' perceptions of value. The manufacturing cost of a Swiss watch is shrouded in marketing waffle. I'd like to know exactly where your money goes when you buy a new Swiss steel watch for 5 or 6 grand. Some of it goes to noble charitable causes, i.e. grand prix drivers and tennis champions. Perhaps we should just stick to G-Shocks and send these people a cheque.

From my shortlist this is the only one I've not been able to see in the metal let alone try on but with advice from here, Googling, YouTube reviews and measuring up against current watches I'm confident I'll be happy i went for this one. I got a great deal on it and should be on my wrist in 2-3 weeks 🤞

A lot of it is just the strength of the Swiss franc.
Though also those B&Rs were three thou retail a few years back, when Speedmasters were also barely more than 3k. They looked poor value then. £1900 is probably fair if you like the brand etc.
