  • Headed out around 7am this morning, with some dates in my pocket to see how far I could go.

    Managed to squeeze out a full marathon.
    About 12k in, I got the sudden call of nature and managed to nip into a petrol station toilet. Good thing the race was cancelled coz if I was giving it race-pace, that would have just made its way out in the middle of Victoria Park.
    Felt fine so carried on. Ate a date every 10k but didn’t have any water other than the glass I had in the morning.
    Started to really feel it about 35k in as my legs just felt different in a bad way - think that was dehydration tbh.

    Anyway, feels like it’s not a wasted day/training block now at least.

    Also, just didn’t feel like I would have been able to maintain 4:08 for 21k anyway, so leant into volume.
