I was looking at one of the later 2.5t Titanium Mondeos, 5 cyclinder engine sounded quite fruity.

3.0 jag x type makes more BHP and it is nicer inside.
There is an AWD one too, but has gearbox issues to keep an eye on.

I had one of these in hatchback form. Sadly the 2 previous cars I owned were an Accord Type-r and an R32, so the Mondeo never quite matched up. Nice enough though

I doubt it would handle as nicely as the e46, but definitely an option I hadn’t considered.
