Same but it's in the gardens behind us. It is NOT repeat NOT lashed down.
Also heard something smash about ten minutes ago. Don't know what, hopefully it wasn't part of our house.

It’s kicking off here on Barry Island. I went for a run and should have worn my swimming gear. The shed is the first casualty. The wind is insane.

My wife is meant to be landing at Heathrow at lunchtime; no idea if that'll happen. The LAX-Heathrow flight before hers was cancelled, but hers boarded and took off.
There's live streaming of planes landing if you can put yourself through it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=vPQh1FrbOc0

I saw that linked elsewhere and closed it after about two seconds of watching in horror as a plane wobbled along diagonally through the air. I wish she'd just changed the flight tbh.

Very understandable. The pilots are amazingly skillful though - impressive stuff.

Update: neighbour across the road is dismantling their trampoline

A tree in next door's front garden came down on top of the car belonging to a builder working on the house next door but one. Luckily nothing more than a couple of scratches. The builders whipped out a power saw and the tree was quickly dismantled and stowed away.
Other than that, it's been a bit of a damp squib.

Oh and someone's garden refuse sack has rolled down the street like tumbleweed.

There's currently 2 trees down at Wimbledon Park on the District line, obstructions at Kew Gardens , Dagenham Heathway and Earls Court.
Just heard a tree has come down at Turnham Green. All branches on District line suspended. -

Carnage on Leyton High Road. Two cafe chairs, a bin, and one of those things the fruit sellers put their fruit on in the road. And I saw a man's woolly hat be blown off his head.

[down on south coast in littlehampton] storm just ripped tiles from roof which fell smashing tile roof of neighbours extension (only 1 or tiles along edge of gutter) but then spun off and smashed our dining room window (which was already cracked when we moved in).
can still hear a lot of tiles flapping on the biggest gusts of wind.
looks like we get to have our first fight with the landlords.

This is so good (as I posted earlier!) - loving the news stations that keep on calling him.
Qatar airways A380 just had 2 goes to land and pulled out both times. Would not want to be on board. -

Looking out on the wood here is like the Ents from Lord of the Rings.
