  • The guard held out for a short while, but deployed poorly and ran around in circles. A small team of infiltrated chaos veterans got the drop on them from behind, so they were caught in a crossfire.

Aircraft is an old forge world one I’ve had for years. Think it’s called the Arvus Lighter

  • Played the new kill team on tabletop simulator last night, i enjoyed it, feels like a good system and once you're both comfortable with your rules should be quite quick. I've got the octarius box and will be teaching it to some friends too.

Had an irl game of 40k last Sunday too, some quite fun moments including those pictured:

    • my malignant plaguecaster getting charged by a unit of squighog boyz, and not only surviving melee, but killing the whole unit too
    • this lone plague marine, surrounded by beast snagga boyz who managed to survive til the end of the game, just eating all of the attacks (just after having killed the opposing player's warlord)

  • Got a Black Powder game tomorrow, set in the Sudan. Took me four years work, on and off, to get to the point where I can host.

Expected to be circa 400 models on the table

  • Black Powder rules. Always an excellent evenings gaming

  • I want to fix the pearlescent white paint on a Vigorelli, and chicken can’t supply touch up paint. They recommended that war game shops can be very good at matching/approximating paints. Does anyone here have experience with that sort of thing? I want about half a nail polish bottle’s worth.

Is there someone near Hackney/Elephant&Castle/Camberwell who might be good to ask? Dark Sphere near E&C won’t answer calls.

  • Dark sphere in Waterloo is shut at the moment I think. You could go to bad moon cafe near borough station but I think they only stock citadel paints and I don't think there's a pearlescent white option.
Miniatures paints are usually 10-15ml and between 3 and 5 pound, so you might be best off just buying a few online (element games is a good online store) and having a go.

  • Thank you, I’ll try Element games then. 👍

  • Sometimes I wish I played computer games :)

Reminds me - has this been shared before?

  • Cool as fuck. 👌

  • Finally pulled it out and restored my old khorne army.

  • Played another game of Warcry. This time we tried the rules for adding monsters into the warbands - turns out the chimera is an absolute beast!

  • Cool.

WTF is that Octopus Crab Compass?

  • It's a Mutalith Vortex Beast! But Octopus Crab Compass sums its up. Its a lovely model of chaos - in that it's horrific and you can't can't work out what it is...

  • Nice. Ta. 😎

  • Just re-discovered this thread.
I was one of those kids who bought and painted whatever GW miniatures he liked the look of but never got into gaming because it looked too complicated. I did play a bit of D&D in my teens.

Fast forward to lockdown internet browsing and I discovered Gaslands and Zona Alfa, I've been along to a couple of games clubs to play Gaslands but ZA is still just a rulebook and pile of unpainted miniatures at the moment.

  • Games mate up the road had a copy of Gaslands when I went for a game last week. Should ask about it!

  • British Napoleonics - finished.

  • @Haino What scale are the Napoleonics?

Some more photos from Warcry. This time we played on the Catacombs map - during the first turn one the bridges collapsed plunging my fighter into the lava below...

  • @Haino What scale are the Napoleonics?

28mm. Mix of Perry, Victrix and Warlord.

  • Few things are more satisfying than watching your opponent plunge to a lava based death state

  • Nice - they look great.

  • Thanks! French not far off completing soon as well

  • Gaslands is fun, one of those games that is quite chaotic so it's best not to take it seriously. The spin & slide results mean the whole game reminds me of driving on ice or mud and there's a lot of losing control and crashing into others that goes with the deliberate ramming/shooting.

The miniatures rules aren't "what you see is what you get" either and while there are official accesory packs you can use you can also just get hold of some matchbox/hot wheels size cars and raid your spares box for weapons, armour and bumpers to stick on them.
