  • The Day We Went To BANGER - MAH commissions minimal deep house remixes of listeners’ grandparents’ favourite seaside music hall standards.

  • Mansplain Supernova

  • The Lynx Africa Brass Sessions: Gilles Peterson curates a selection of modern jazz reinterpretations of 90s chart indie.

Personal highlight was Pharoah Saunders/Floating Points interpolating ‘You Get What You give’ by the New Radicals. Or maybe The Sons of Kemet sprawling Shed Seven medley

  • Haha! Excellent .

  • Vodka or Coke

Desert Island Discs meets the Sausage Sandwich Game as callers have to guess if today's guest star would take either booze or class A's along as their luxury item, all based on the four tracks they choose.

This feature is to be sandwiched either side of a drive-time news bulletin for added suspense.

  • Sour Tynes: Nadine Shah talks about her favourite Newcastle bands, such as The Animals, Prefab Sprout and Venom. Lauren Laverne just plays Portishead tracks over the top.

  • 'Fog on the Tyne' an acceptable alternative name?

  • What’s the Portishead link?

  • If You Tolerate bIS.

Going to see a band you hate because you're on a promise.

  • Wonder if anyone went to a Bis gig, missed the last bus home and subsequently fell in some water?

  • Oh no reason other than the one time I've been to actual Portishead it was foggy.

  • I once lost a shoe crowd surfing at a BIS/RFTC gig that I had to persuade my friends to go to. CSB. (Full disclosure, I loved Bis)

  • Cage Against The Machine: Tom Morello guest hosts an hour of silence.

  • Haha!

  • My goodness, Chris Hawkins doing ‘names in songs’ really is plumbing murky new depths of tedium, isn’t it?

  • Yes, but...

    Surely the 'winner'?

  • Ha! Yeah if only they’d just played that right at the start and saved everyone all this misery.

  • Quite a few Carter USM tracks would've made it too... New Cross has 5 names, Everytime a Churchbell Rings has 3 more.

I'd have cleaned up if been listening this morning.

  • Other than a brief interview with Bill Drummond before it you missed nowt.

Rest was just interspersed with anecdotes from people who'd fallen in water/locked themselves out while listening to it.

I'll just stick the vinyl on later I think.

  • Got fed up with 6 music reminding me of their festival in Cardiff. Thought I'd give Radio 4 a go, but it is terrible.

Lame comedy, people moaning about stuff. Weather forecast was good.
