I’ve been doing squats and split squats with kettlebells for the past 8 weeks as I took a break from the gym over Christmas/Omicron. Went back on Sunday and stupidly tried to pick up where I left off in terms of load. Felt fine until finishing up split squats. Legs burning, walking home like John Wayne, etc.
Two days later and legs still very sore – this is not DOMS, which I know the feeling of and can manage. It was instant and feels strained. I did an hour of Z1 yesterday to see if spinning legs felt good – it did. Did an hour of z2 this morning, which felt good, too.
It’s 48 hours later and stairs are still a chore. I’d say it’s improved 20%. Should I rest up completely or is spinning the legs in z1/z2 helping recovery?
